Important Info
All information presented in this guide is subject to change based on game updates. This guide aims to help you understand the mechanics and optimal progression at the time of publication.
COMBAT
Elements
Each character has a unique element that defines their damage type and team synergies. There are 6 elements in NTE. Combining the right elements in a team activates Esper Cycles, powerful passive bonuses.
Cosmos
Anima
Incantation
Chaos
Psyché
Lakshana Arcs (Weapons)
Arcs are the weapons in NTE. There are 5 types: Instinct, Emotion, Cognition, Connection, and Restriction. Each character can only equip their own arc type. Avoid upgrading blue (rare) arcs. Some legendary arcs can be obtained for free through Anomaly Commissions.
Consoles
Consoles are your characters' main equipment. They have a random main stat (crit rate, anima damage bonus...) and variable sub-stats. You can only obtain them through dungeons. Wait until you have at least purple-tier consoles before spending resources on them.
Modules
Modules are obtained with carrots (bronze, silver, gold) collected from dungeons. Their main stat is fixed in the beta, but sub-stats are random. Aim for crit rate, crit damage, and attack.
Dodge
Dodging simply allows you to avoid taking damage. Use it as soon as an enemy attack comes in to dodge it cleanly.
Counter
When you see a red circle appear, strike at that exact moment: the enemy loses a huge amount of break. This is the most effective mechanic to shatter the white bar quickly.
Break Bar
The white bar under enemies is the break bar. When it reaches zero, the enemy is stunned. In auto combat, it handles itself; but if you counter manually, you deplete it much faster.
Cancel Swap
NTE lets you swap characters during an animation. This is cancel swapping. This is why you usually run 2 DPS: while one finishes their animation, the other can already attack, maximizing sustained damage output.
Team Composition
A team consists of 4 characters. The optimal setup is 2 DPS + 1 Buffer + 1 Healer. Thanks to cancel swapping (switching characters during an animation), you chain damage without interruption.
Esper Cycles
Each character has an element. Combining the right elements in a team activates Esper Cycles: passive bonuses and special effects triggered by using elements in a specific order. Your character rotation must follow a specific order to trigger these effects.
Two main team families
TEAM A
Chaos
Incantation
Psyché TEAM B
Lakshana
Anima
Cosmos Aim for at least 3 complementary elements in the same team.
Esper Cycles List
To trigger an Esper Cycle, use the support skill of the character matching the required element. Here are all available cycles:
Anima
Incantation Deals an additional instance of follow-up attack DMG to the target equal to 20% of anima and incantation DMG taken within 12s after triggering.
Chaos
Psyché Applies Nova to the target for 5s. When the effect expires, the target takes a massive amount of mental DMG.
Incantation
Chaos Applies the Burn effect to the target for 15s, dealing damage over time after triggering.
Chaos
Psyche
Incantation Reduces a certain percentage of the target's Break effect when simultaneously affected by Nova and Burn.
Psyche
Lakshana Increases psyche and lakshana DMG taken by the target by 20% for 12s after triggering.
Lakshana
Cosmos The target enters Remora for 5s, slowing their movement and attack speed. The effect fades over time and the duration will be shorter if applied repeatedly.
Cosmos
Anima Generates 1 Life Tree near the target, blooming 5 Life Flowers. The Flowers fly toward nearby targets, exploding every 2s and dealing AoE DMG. Up to 3 Life Trees can exist on the field at once.
Cosmos
Lakshana
Anima Grants the active character 10 additional Ultimate Energy when Life Flowers hit targets affected by the Remora effect.

PROGRESSION
Hunter Level
Your Hunter Level is your account level. It increases through exploration, quests, and using pixels. The maximum level is 60. This is your top priority as a beginner.
Evaluation Level (World Level)
Your Hunter Level unlocks the Evaluation Level (world level). The higher it is, the more HP bosses have, but the more generous pixel rewards become.
Top priority: Reach Evaluation 7 (level 55) before anything else. At this level, every pixel spent yields far more resources than at Evaluation 1.
Wertheimer Towers
Unlock the area on your map: you can see buildings and everything inside. Activate them first in every new zone.
Phone Booths
These are the game's teleporters. Unlock them to fast-travel between zones.
Gifts of 21
Hidden chests scattered across the open world. Collecting them gives account XP and resources.
Oracle Stones (Crows)
Crows visible in the open world. Return these oracle stones to the "Black Bird" character to obtain annulites (summons) and account XP.
Anomaly Commissions
Unique, non-repeatable missions. They reward hunter XP, summons, Fonts, and free legendary arcs. Absolutely must-do.
Quests & Priorities
Quests are divided into main quests (story), side quests, and daily quests. Focus on the story first, then tackle exploration. Dailies give hunter XP and summons: do them every day.
Events
Events are a major source of summons and resources. Participate as soon as they become available and complete them before they expire. The Hunter Journal (available during events) also grants a free arc.
Pink Paws Heist
The most profitable activity early game: up to 1 million Fonts per week. A bank heist where you collect items within a time limit. A dedicated guide will be available soon.
Tip: The exploration guide offers small bonus missions that give quick XP. Check it regularly.
Weekly Anomalies: These bosses must be done 3 times per week. They allow you to upgrade certain characters' skills. Don't miss them.
Magnate Level
This level increases by buying an apartment, completing quests, and purchasing a vehicle. It unlocks important rewards. Do this alongside your main quests.
Apartments
Each apartment offers anomaly furniture to purchase, which provide active combat bonuses (durability reduction, skill bonuses...). Some bonuses are really useful, so prioritize apartments early.
Businesses (Cafe, etc.)
Businesses generate passive Fonts. Restock every day (or every 3 days). Your management level increases when you collect your earnings: the higher it is, the more recipes you unlock and the more money you make. Early on, avoid the 72h stock since you'll level up very quickly.
RESOURCES
Pixels
Pixels are the game's main energy (equivalent to resin). Maximum: 240. They regenerate continuously -- never let them hit the cap, or regeneration stops. Use them daily.
Usage Priority Order
Resources to level up your DPS characters and their important skills.
Resources to upgrade your arcs (purple minimum only, never blue).
Farm Consoles in dungeons -- this is your main activity until endgame.
Tip: Wait until you have at least purple-tier consoles before spending resources on them. Legendaries (gold) will come later. Don't blow everything on low-tier consoles.
Endurance
Endurance is separate from Pixels. It regenerates every Monday at 5 AM. It is used for Hethereau Hobbies content: races, deliveries, quick travels, fishing, and other mini-games that earn Fonts.
Pity System
There is no 50/50. The limited character is guaranteed at pity 90. The probability increases starting from 70 wishes. Each summon can yield a 4-star, a 5-star, or resources.
Summons
Main sources are: daily quests, events (major source), exploration, and the Hunter Journal (in events, also grants a free arc). Always do the events.
Arcs
Arc keys are rare. Prefer saving them for character banners rather than weapon banners. Rather than summoning a character's arc, aim for their premium team (the characters that make them strongest).

ENDGAME
Beyond the Rails
NTE's endgame is split into two parts: permanent content and content that resets periodically (likely every 15 or 30 days). The periodic reset is a major source of wishes.
Combat Waves (2 Teams)
The core of endgame content: face waves of mobs (normal and boss) with two separate teams, within a set time limit. This is why you need to prepare two solid compositions with mastered synergies.
Goal: Everything you farm in progression (skills, consoles, arcs, modules) directly serves this content. The periodic reset will become your priority once main quests and exploration are completed.
SOCIAL LIFE
Tip: Early on, avoid the 72h stock since you'll level up very quickly. Manage your stock daily to maximize your earnings.
Vehicles & Races
Vehicles are customizable and used for races: online, with friends, or against NPCs. These races earn summons and Fonts. You need to own a vehicle to participate, and spend Endurance (which recharges every Monday).
Hethereau Hobbies
Hobbies use Endurance which regenerates every Monday at 5 AM. They include: races, deliveries, quick travels, fishing, and other mini-games that earn Fonts.
