Wuthering Waves Tier List FAQ
What is the Wuthering Waves tier list based on?
The ranking combines in-game testing, the damage calculations available on Slyraf and community experience. It compares characters within their roles and considers their contribution to teams and their synergies. It is therefore not based only on the raw damage of an isolated character.
Why are there two separate rankings?
Tower of Adversity and Whimpering Wastes each have their own ranking grid. A character can therefore occupy a different tier between the two modes. Use the buttons above the ranking to display the content you need.
Which sequences and weapons are used to compare characters?
The general tier list uses a common baseline: 5-star characters are considered at S0R1 and 4-star characters at S6R1. This gives the ranking a consistent investment assumption for each rarity.
How are the Main DPS, Sub DPS and Support roles used?
Each character is placed in the column for the role being evaluated. Main DPS characters take the primary damage role, Sub DPS characters provide damage or utility around the main character, and Supports contribute to the team’s operation and stability. For Supports, healing, shields, buffs and other boosts provided to the whole team also count in their evaluation.
What do the S+, S, A, B, C and D tiers mean?
S+ represents the absolute meta, S an excellent level, A very good, B decent, C situational and D weak. These levels should always be read within the selected role column and game mode.
Why might a character feel better or worse in my team?
Actual results depend on your team composition and character synergies. Weapons, sequences and playstyle also affect your experience, while the tier list keeps the general assumptions described above.
How do I read changes from the latest update?
The bar below tier D shows the tracked game version. “NEW” marks a new addition to the ranking, the green arrow indicates a rise and the red arrow indicates a drop.
Can I create and share my own ranking?
Yes. The “Create my own Tier List” button opens the Tier List Maker. You can move characters, customize the ranking, save it in your browser and export it as a PNG file.
