Wuthering Waves Character Guides FAQ

What does a character guide contain?

Every guide gathers what you need to play a character properly in one place, split across five tabs.

  • Profile: the full kit, skill by skill, and the order to level talents in.
  • Review & rotation: the verdict on the character, their play style, strengths and weaknesses, and the rotation to run.
  • Weapon & set: ranked weapons, Echo sets, main stats and the substats to prioritise.
  • Team: the compositions that get the most out of the kit, and the synergies behind them.
  • Calculations: the damage split per skill and the DPR of every calculated team.
Where do the recommendations come from?

They are not a gut feeling: they come from this site's DPR calculations, which compare characters on the same investment baseline. The method is public and spells out the assumptions, the rotations simulated and the limits of the exercise.

How often are the guides updated?

Every guide is reviewed again at each patch. When a kit changes, a new weapon lands or the teams shift, the build and the rotation are updated. Each guide shows the date it was last checked at the top, so you know how recent the last pass was.

Why do some characters have no guide?

A character missing from the list does not have a guide yet. Guides are published as they are written, starting with the ones that matter most in the meta, because each one needs calculations and in-game testing before it goes live.

How do I compare characters against each other?

Reading guides one by one is not the way to compare. The tier list ranks characters by role and by game mode, and the DPR ranking gives their damage per rotation on a common baseline.

How do I know who to play a character with?

The Team tab of each guide lists its best compositions. To start from what you own rather than from one character, the Team Builder pulls up the compositions already calculated for your roster.
